The third floor of the Coweta County Justice Center in Newnan is about to receive improvements that will lead to the creation of room for superior court, a judge’s chamber and other additions in the 2,400 sq. ft. project.
The Coweta County Commission on June 4 voted unanimously to award a $435,000 low bid to Headley Construction for the build-out project on the third floor of the justice center.
The interior construction project is a budgeted item and will include the creation of a judge’s chamber, another courtroom for Coweta County Superior Court, a jury deliberation room and supports spaces, according to county staff.
The $435,000 bid by Headley Construction was the lowest of the four bids received. The remaining bids ranged from $450,000 by Beatty Construction to a high bid of $693,000 by Triad Construction.
The bid comes with a contract completion time of 150 consecutive days.
The vote by commissioners came with essentially no discussion.
