What happened at Newtown, Conn., could happen anywhere. With that in mind, local law enforcement members practice training scenarios that involve what’s called an “active shooter” in various environments, including a school. Here, Peachtree City Police trainer Ken Rawlls demonstrates techniques used in the active shooter training held Wednesday at J.C. Booth Middle School on Peachtree Parkway. The school provided an appropriate environment for the training that required a large setting. Participating in the training and pictured, from left, were Cpl. Monica Cacourly and Sgt. Kay Crider.
