Whitewater scholars honored by American Legion

At this year’s Whitewater High School senior awards ceremony, two graduating seniors were recognized by Fayette County Post 105 with the 2013 American Legion School Award. Barbara Daniel and Frank Johnson were selected by the faculty for their qualities of courage, honor, scholarship, service, leadership and patriotism. Pictured are Dave Niebes, Post 105 Commander, Barbara Daniel, Frank Johnson, and Joe Bowler, Post 105 member. Daniel is the president of the Creative Writing Club, played varsity golf and has earned the Girl Scout Silver Award. She plans to attend Georgia in the fall. Johnson was active in scouting as well, played varsity basketball and served on the Youth Advisory Council. He plans to attend Georgia Tech. Photo/Special.
