The annual National Day of Prayer this year will be observed on Thursday, May 2, under the theme of “Praying for America.” Traditionally, millions answer the call to pray in observance of this day which is celebrating its 62nd year of existence.
Shirley Dobson, wife of Family Talk founder, Dr. James Dobson, is this year’s task force chairperson. She had this to say concerning the event: “The American people continue to be plagued with challenges which defy simple answers, and our only hope lies in humbly seeking the Almighty’s guidance, protection and blessings — not only on the National Day of Prayer, but throughout the year.” St. Paul Lutheran Church and School at 700 Ardenlee Parkway in Peachtree City will conduct a special prayer service in observation of this day. It will be held in the school’s cafeteria at 7 pm. The public is invited.
