Alice Louise Horton (Leibel), 96 passed away March 8, 2013, in Peachtree City, Ga.
Born March 11, 1917, in Holt, Mo., to Frank and Faye Leibel, she was raised in Kansas City. She graduated from Southwest High School and attended the Kansas City Business College. In her early career, she worked in the Fox Theater offices and later, in the superintendent’s office of the Excelsior Springs’ School District.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Horton, her second husband, Robert A. Moberly, her sisters, Mildred Barnes and Jenny Riley.
She is survived by her daughter Faye Williams (Wade), Peachtree City, Ga., sons Mike Horton (Mary Frances), Overland Park, Kan. and Joe Horton, Springfield Mo., grandchildren Erin Ballentine and Amy Williams, Robert Horton and Monica King, and her five great-grandchildren.
Her passions were counted cross-stitch samplers, playing the piano and reading.
Alice’s wisdom, generosity, and gracious manner throughout her life will be missed by family and friends.
A memorial gathering will be held in the future.
