On Saturday, Feb. 2, Whitewater High School held its annual scholarship pageant produced by the choral department. Kylie Hastings, a senior, was chosen the overall winner and will receive a scholarship. Miss Hastings also won the award for Most Photogenic as well as the award for Evening Gown.

The first runner-up was Victoria Murry who also received the award for the best interview. Madison Mueller was the second runner up. Both the first and second runner up will receive a scholarship.

Additional awards were given to Kelsey Vagher for People’s Choice and Helena Fickling for Most Ad Sales.

Sixteen ladies participated in this year’s pageant. The winner of the Miss Whitewater Pageant is determined by combining scores from several categories including an interview, a resume, on-stage introduction, evening wear and a student grade point average.

In conjunction with the Miss Whitewater Pageant, young ladies from Bennett’s Mill and Whitewater Middle Schools were invited to participate in the Junior Miss Whitewater Pageant.

Kate Anderson was crowned Junior Miss Whitewater on Friday night. Delaney Mueller was chosen as the first runner-up.

The Junior Miss Whitewater winner is determined by scores for on-stage introduction, evening wear and a final question from the judges.

The Whitewater High School Choral Department’s next project is its hugely popular “Whitewater Spectacular”, premiering April 25 through the 28. This year’s show is the musical “Hair.” Tickets will go on sale in April.
