Have you have ever wondered what the overall health needs of the Coweta County community might be? A healthcare-oriented town hall meeting conducted by Piedmont Healthcare on Feb. 19 will provide answers to some of those questions.
The healthcare town hall meeting will be held at the Central Education Center in Newnan, during which Piedmont Healthcare representatives will discuss the findings of a recent community health needs assessment specific to Coweta County. Among the topics are issues such as diabetes, obesity, access to care, appropriate use of the emergency room at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.
“It is important to know where our communities stand in terms of health needs,” said Holly Lang, director of community benefit at Piedmont Healthcare. “By sharing our findings with the public and developing programs to address these needs, together we’ll be able to tackle these issues and make our communities healthier.”
In addition to sharing the findings of the recent community health needs assessments, Piedmont representatives will be discussing future health programs to address the identified health needs for the community, said Lang.
“Our assessments show there is a wide variety of health issues to address,” said Lang. “The most common issues include access to care, obesity, preventable hospital readmissions, diabetes and heart disease. Now, we need to work as a community to proactively address these shared concerns.”
The Piedmont Newnan Hospital town hall meeting will be held Feb. 19 from 6-8 p.m. at the Central Education Center located at 160 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. The meeting is open to the public and should last approximately two hours.

Piedmont Healthcare will be holding a series of town hall meetings in the coming weeks in the areas surrounding each of the Piedmont-affiliated hospitals throughout Georgia. Results from recent community health needs assessments specific to each hospital’s community will be discussed.
