With the inauguration of President Obama I found myself wondering about something. Over 90 percent of black Americans voted for the Democratic Party and more than that voted for President Obama. So why do such a high percentage of black voters pick the Democrats?
I have known lots of black people who are very unique in the way they live their lives and the things they believe. So why are they virtually monolithic at the voting booth?
I would love an education on the subject. We could use The Citizen to have a discussion. I hope some black readers will enlighten me as to the pros of the Democratic Party and the cons of the Republican Party.
But please, no bumper stickers. Example: It was George Bush’s economic policies that took down the economy. I have heard this before, but when I ask which policies did this, I get a blank stare and silence. If you do not know what you are talking about, please do not talk.
Give specifics and even personal experiences if possible. Hope to understand the whys of this practice.
