Patricia Anne Scherff Feit, originally from Long Island, N.Y., passed away on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013 after a battle with Alzheimer’s.

She is survived by her husband, Stephen John Feit, three daughters, Suzanne Norman, Claudia Phillips, and Amanda Gainer; son-in-law David Norman, four grandsons and one great grandson.

In 1994, Pat retired from the University System of Georgia and moved to Fayetteville to help raise her grandsons. Having traveled extensively overseas as a young mother, she lived out her final years happily nestled in Fayetteville surrounded by her family, neighbors, yard work and various other hobbies. She participated in the Meals on Wheels organization. She was among the first group of volunteers at the Fayette Hospital when it opened its doors in 1997. Among friends and family, Pat could always be distinguished by her lively laughter and cheery attitude.

Pat generously donated her body to the Georgia Health Science University. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to alz.org.

Her service will be held Saturday, Jan. 12 at 2 p.m., Brighton Gardens Assisted Living Community, 3088 Lenox Road NE in Atlanta, Ga. – 404-846-8335.
