SIGVARIS recently collected school supplies for the Real Life Center, a local organization collecting backpacks and school supplies for students in the community.
The Real Life Center is a local organization committed to helping families get back on their feet financially, emotionally or spiritually during tough times. SIGVARIS was able to donate 18 backpacks and supplies that will be used by middle and high school students this year.
“SIGVARIS employees are excited to participate in community outreach activities and give back to our community. As a result of this drive many students will start the school year off with the supplies they need,” says Elaine May, director of Customer Care at SIGVARIS. “Giving to others is one of our company’s core values, and we are thrilled to be able to make an impact on our community in a small way.”
In addition to backpacks, SIGVARIS employees purchased pens, pencils, calculators, bookcovers, notebooks, notebook paper, assignment books, folders, binders, notecards, erasers, lunch bags and additional items to help set students up for a great school year.
Cathy Berggren, executive director of the Real Life Center says, “Often when school supplies are collected, it is usually for the younger students rather than the older ones.
SIGVARIS’ willingness to help collect for this age group is such a gift for our community! Already, we have had many families in our area request help with supplies, and we appreciate SIGVARIS for partnering with us to help meet this need. So many times we don’t recognize how much of a need is actually out there.”
