A Fayetteville man was arrested Friday for assaulting another man June 28 over a dispute about a girl, police said.
The assault caused the victim to be hospitalized for treatment of his injuries after he lost consciousness and woke up in the suspect’s yard just before 1 p.m., police said.
Darius A. Lollar, 21, of Williamsburg Way was charged with felony counts of aggravated assault, aggravated battery and false imprisonment. He also was charged with misdemeanor counts of simple battery and fraudulent use of a driver’s license.
Police were initially summoned to the car wash on nearby Lee Street to meet with the victim, and at the time the victim said he was riding a bike down the road when three people attacked him, police said.
After he was taken to the hospital, hospital staff called police and said the victim had more information, at which time he told officers that the argument and fight occurred at Lollar’s residence, police said. The victim said he came to Lollar’s house after Lollar called him and asked him to come over, police said.
