Candidates for Coweta County Superior Court judge will face off in a forum in Senoia on July 26. The forum will feature Kevin McMurry and Emory Palmer, running for the Superior Court seat in the Coweta Judicial Circuit which includes Coweta, Carroll, Heard, Meriwether and Troup Counties.
Organizers Lee Norman and Joe Cannin said the purpose of the forum is to allow the citizens of Senoia and southeast Coweta County area to hear the candidate’s views on why they feel they should be elected to the Superior Court.
The forum will be held on Thursday, July 26 at 7 p.m. in the City Municipal Building located at 505 Howard Road in Senoia.
The forum will be structured so that candidates will have opening comments, followed by a period of questions and answers and then closing comments. Questions to be asked during the forum can be submitted before Monday, July 23 to questionsfortheforum@gmail.com
Organizers ask that questions be as explicit as possible and focus primarily on circuit court issues. Questions are also encouraged from those attending the forum. Question cards can be filled out as you enter the building. All questions will be reviewed for appropriateness.
If we do not have time for these questions, they will be given to the candidates to answer either by email or a phone call, organizers said.
Prior to the beginning of the forum there will be guest appearances by the Ga. 3rd District Congressional candidates Kent Kingsley and Chip Flanegan. Congressman Lynn Westmoreland will not be able to attend due to Congress being in session but a member of his staff will make a brief statement for the Congressman, organizers said.
