New Lebanon Baptist Church, 1674 Wagers Mill Rd. in Newnan, will celebrate its 138th birthday and Homecoming 2012, Sunday, July 15, beginning with the 10:30 a.m. worship service.
The celebration will include special singing and preaching with The Old Paths Quartet and dinner on the grounds immediately following the morning service. Everyone is invited.
With loads of enthusiasm and ministry experience, the Old Paths Quartet materialized out of Atlanta.
Their signature sound — Jeremy Peace’s rare, polished high tenor, Tim Rackley’s commanding “out front” lead, Doug Roark’s smooth soothing baritone, and Daniel Ashmore’s rock bottom solid bass — has become the blueprint for many groups to follow and has proven to be an ideal antidote for the increasingly blasé Gospel music currently being performed.
The Old Paths began in the fall of 2003. They have performed for Charles Stanley at First Baptist Atlanta, the Georgia Baptist Convention, the Alabama Baptist Convention, Dr. Jerry Vines Evangelism Ministries, and numerous other conferences, community events, and churches.
They are a current top 10 nominee for Horizon Group of the Year in the Singing News Fan Awards, and their current radio single, “The I of the Storm,” is at #13 on the May 2012 Singing News Radio Airplay chart.
