A break-in at the Verizon store on Fayetteville’s south side resulted in an unknown number of cell phones stolen and a big hole in the wall at the store’s rear.
Fayetteville Police spokesman Steve Crawshaw said a Verizon employee at the Summit Shopping Center on South Glynn Street closed the store at 6:30 p.m. Sunday night and returned Monday morning at 9:30 a.m.
The employee found the back door unlocked and an undetermined number of cell phones and accessories missing.
The employee also found a large pile of broken cinder block laying on the ground behind the store, Crawshaw said. The pile of concrete block was left after the store’s rear wall was busted through to obtain entry into the store, Crawshaw said.
Anyone with information pertaining to this burglary is asked to contact Fayetteville Police at 770-461-4441.
