The Fourth Annual Peachtree City Monopoly tournament is scheduled for Saturday, April 28 at the Towne Club at 201 Crosstown Road in Peachtree City. Players will be competing for over $900 in cash prizes, gift certificates and other awards. There is no entry fee.
The tournament is officially sponsored by Hasbro, Inc. Out of state players from Indiana, Florida and Alabama are already registered to play as well as players from North Atlanta in Alpharetta and Woodstock. Some players have previously played in the national Monopoly championship.
The first round will start at 10 a.m. and be timed for 90 minutes. A semifinal round of winners from the first round will play at noon. Winners of the semifinal will play the championship game on a Collector’s Edition board at 2 p.m.
Ages 12 and up are welcome to register. Case by case exceptions will be considered for those younger than 12.
Players are encouraged to register by emailing: PTCMonopoly@yahoo.com . Include your name, address, phone and age in the email. A reply email confirming registration will be sent. Game day registration runs from 8:45 a.m. until a rules review at around 9:45 a.m. Players who were unable to pre-register are welcome to sign in during this period.
The Towne Club will offer beverages and table snacks in the morning at no charge.
