Peachtree City’s disc golf course will be closed for renovations starting April 22, officials said.
Local Boy Scout Alan Bowers will refurbish the tee boxes and will remove the baskets so they can be sandblasted, powder coated and reinstalled, city officials said.
The course is located across Willowbend Road from City Hall adjacent to the First Presbyterian and First Baptist church campuses along Ga. Highway 54. Nestled in the woods, it may be one of the stealthiest recreation opportunities in Peachtree City.
The renovations are expected to be complete by May 27.
Another Boy Scout, Matt Prellberg, will be installing a horseshoe pit at the Glenloch recreation complex beginning April 14. The project should not impact any other facilities at Glenloch, but park users are asked to avoid the construction area until the project is complete.
The city is appreciative of both Scouts’ efforts to improve the city’s recreation facilities.
