Bethany UMC to hold yard sale
Bethany United Methodist church will hold a yard sale Friday and Saturday, April 13 and 14, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Items for sale will include clothing, household items, children’s items and miscellaneous. The church is at 607 Rivers Rd. (intersection of Rivers-Milam roads and Lee’s Lake Road) in north Fayette County. For information, call the church, 770-964-6999.

Nat’l Heights offers parenting classes
Five- week Active Parenting classes will meet again at National Heights Baptist Church from 2-4 p.m. starting Sunday, April 15. The cost is $13 per family.  Classes are co-sponsored by the United Methodist Children’s home.  To register, email Noelle Owen at nowen@umchildrenshome.org.

CDM to host prophetic service
Christ Discipleship Ministries (CDM), 114 W. Campbellton St., Fairburn, will host a Prophet Chambers Prophetic Service on Sunday, April 15, at 5 p.m. The speaker will be Prophet Timothy Frazier. COS to offer baby-sitting training class
Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church In Peachtree City will offer a baby-sitting training class on April 21, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Students will learn child care skills in addition to CPR, first aid, and the Heimlich maneuver. CDM to host Prophet Chambers seminar
Christ Discipleship Ministries (CDM), 114 W. Campbellton Street, Fairburn, will host a seminar titled Prophet Chambers Training on Saturday, April 21, rom 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The speaker will be Prophet Timothy Frazier. The training is for those who feel called to the office of the prophet and for those who want to understand the role of the prophet in the 21st Century. S.A.G.E. group heads for botanical gardens
The S.A.G.E group at Fayetteville First UMC, is planning a trip to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens on Thursday, April 26. The cost is $20 per person for admission and transportation, plus lunch on your own at the “Metro Fresh in the Garden Cafe.” After April 12, the cost is $25 per person. The group will depart at 9 a.m. and will return to the church at 2 p.m. Trip dates are subject to change and are dependent on driver availability and a 15 person minimum. FPC Spring Fling is April 28 downtown
Fayette Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville will host its “Annual Spring Fling” on Saturday, April 28, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.  The event will be held at the Downtown Fayetteville Square  Gazebo and Fountain Area (in front of the Government Complex).  It is open to the public to enjoy the musical band, booths for games, free rides and popcorn, information and, food and beverages will be available.  A door prize drawing will be held every hour (tickets $1). Those attending are requested to bring a non-perishable item for donation to the Fayette Samaritans.

Summit offers free tutoring
The Family Resource Center at The Summit Presbyterian Church is offering  free tutoring for elementary and high school students. Classes meet on Wednesdays, one from 4-5 p.m. and another from 5-6 p.m. Help is offered in math, reading, homework, science, and language arts. Tutors are supervised by certified teachers.
