The First Christian Church of Tyrone has released a slate of upcoming events leading up through Holy Week.
This Saturday, March 31, the congregation will have a work day to prepare the grounds and building for the Holy Season. Coffee will be served starting at 8 a.m. At 5:30 p.m. there will be a Low Country Boil meal, followed by a showing of he movie “Courageous” at 7 p.m. Childcare is provided for children up through first grade age.
On Sunday, April l, both the traditional service and the contemporary service will be joined temporarily for one celebration as the choir and drama team present a musical and dramatic experienced called “Song Of The Lamb”—a joyous celebration of the risen Lord. Sunday evening at 6 p.m. a new one hour program of leadership mentoring will begin.
On Wednesday, April 4, the usual evening meal is suspended in lieu of the special 6:30 p.m. presentation by Jews For Jesus. Mark Landrum will lead a program about the Passover Feast and how the elements of the Seder dinner tie into the prophecy fulfillment in Jesus Christ.
On Saturday, April 7, the Easter Egg Eggstravaganza will be staged from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
On Sunday, April 8, the celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ will begin with an outdoor Sunrise Service at 7 a.m., weather permitting.
A church-wide breakfast follows at 8:15. Sunday School will meet at 9:30 a.m. and worship will be at 10:30. The church is at 294 Jenkins Rd .
