A resident in the Kedron Hills subdivision chased a burglar from his residence and fired two shots at the getaway truck before it left the scene early Friday afternoon, police said.
The incident happened at 1304 Euclid Court just after 12:15 p.m. when the homeowner heard a door open to the residence. When the homeowner went to investigate, he saw a black female inside the residence who took a gold-colored money clip, police said.
The homeowner chased the suspect out of the home and fired two shots at the truck before it sped away, police said.
The homeowner told 911 operators that one of the shots struck the radiator of the burgundy and silver Ford F-150 truck that was later stopped on Winfair Drive in Tyrone by a Tyrone police officer. Police detained two suspects in that vehicle and were investigating the possibility that a third person was connected to the incident.
It was not immediately known what charges might be filed in connection with the incident, and police were actively investigating the matter as The Citizen went to press Friday afternoon.
