A Newnan man pled guilty Tuesday to robbing a Peachtree City convenience store at gunpoint Dec. 19, 2009.

Orlando Marquez Peavy, 23, was sentenced to life in prison plus an additional five years in prison by Fayette County Superior Court Judge Christopher C. Edwards.

Peavy admitted to robbing the Creekside Chevron gas station on Ga. Highway 54 West after 6 a.m. Dec. 19 while using a sawed-off shotgun.

Peavy was charged with armed robbery, possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited firearm, aggravated assault and carrying a concealed weapon.

Peavy was arrested five days after the incident, as he was also wanted for a kidnapping and armed carjacking incident in Newnan, officials said at the time. Peavy has since entered guilty pleas related to that case, court officials said.
