John “Calvin” Graves, 86 of Fayetteville, passed away on March 9, 2012.
He was born September 4, 1925 in Fayetteville, Ga.
He served in the US Navy during WWII. He retired after 30 years of service with Ford Motor Company and was a lifetime member of Fayetteville First Baptist Church where he was a Deacon Emeritus.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years Helen Houston Graves, his son James Calvin and wife Carolyn Graves of Atlanta; daughter Kathy and husband James Thomas Ferrell of Thompson’s Station, Tenn.; grandchildren, Jo Beth and Mark Burrell, John Farrell, Katie Ferrell and Claire Graves; great-grandchildren Emma Grace and Audrey Isabella Burrell; sister Kathleen Boyd of Fayetteville and brother-in- law Herbert Lawton of Tucker.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, March 11, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Overton Chapel of First Baptist Church of Fayetteville. Rev. Glenn Stringham, Rev. Jim Battles and Rev. Chris Perkins officiated.
Interment followed at Camp Memorial Park. The family received friends on Saturday at the funeral home.
