G. Belinda Stanford McEachern died unexpectedly Feb. 25, 2012 while on a cruise in the Caribbean.
She was born Feb. 11, 1953, the daughter of Glover Kenneth Stanford and Betty Jones Stanford.
Her father preceded her in death in 1997. She was also predeceased by her dear sisters Faye S. Moore and an infant sister Kathy Elaine Stanford.
Belinda graduated from Newnan High School in 1971. She attended The Crawford W. Long School of Nursing and was a graduate of the Nursing School at University of West Georgia. She had also graduated from West Georgia Technical College as a computer programmer.
Belinda found her life’s calling as a nurse for Tanner Hospice Care. Her unlimited capacity to nurture was a source of comfort and strength to her patients and their families. In her spare time, she could be found in a comfy rocker with a favorite book.
Belinda attended Providence Baptist Church.
She is survived by her devoted son, Mitchell Paul (and Marlena) McEachern; her mother, Betty Jones Stanford; her sisters, Kay (Randy) Hogan, Susan S. (Glenn) Cooper and her brother-in-law Larry Moore. Her nieces and nephews are Amy Hogan, Stan Moore, Beth Moore, Troy (Leslie) Hogan, Ken (Shana) Cooper, Chase (Amber) Cooper. A great source of pride and joy were in those she claimed as “grandchildren”: Devin Barrett, Kenzi Henry, Joseph Parker, Kaydon Cooper, Will Tant, Glover Cooper, and Bryson Cooper. Her grandparents are R. T. and Maggie Stanford, F. W. (Bud) and Ruby Jones.
Funeral arrangements are by McKoon Funeral Home at 38 Jackson Street.
Visitation was Wednesday evening at McKoon Funeral Home. The funeral service was held Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the McKoon Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment followed in Oak Hill Cemetery.
