Residents of Fulton, Fayette and Coweta counties on Feb. 28 got a close-up look and gave input on the two plans for re-working the intersection at I-85 and Ga. Highway 74. The public meeting held at The Bedford School featured maps showing two different plans for the intersection aimed at reducing traffic congestion. The “diverging diamond” plan on either side of the bridge is tentatively scheduled for 2018 though that construction could come sooner. The more ambitious “partial cloverleaf” plan would allow traffic to free-flow onto Hwy. 74. That project in contingent on the passage of the regional TSPLOST proposal that is up for a vote in July.
