On January 10 the Fayette School Counselor’s Association (FSCA) and FACTOR Fayette Family Connection hosted a Community Resource Fair at the LaFayette Education Center. Over 40 organizations were represented at the Fair.

LeeAnn Belknap, President of FSCA and Becky Smith, FACTOR Executive Director combined efforts to connect Fayette School Counselors with the programs and services available to the residents of Fayette County whom they serve on a daily basis. A sample of available resources included Medical Services (physical and mental health), Support Programs (transitional, child advocacy and critical needs assistance) and Youth Serving Organizations.

This networking opportunity was successful because relationships were formed between Fayette School Counselors and Fayette community agencies which will enable the school counselors to work hand in hand with the community to serve Fayette’s families in need.

We would like to thank our local vendors who provided food for the Resource Fair. These included donations from Sam Sweat, Assistant Superintendent of Operations, Publix Super Market at Summit Point, Publix Super Market at Wilshire Pavilion, Target at Fayetteville Pavilion, and Chick-fil-A at Fayetteville Dwarf House.
