Recently my wife and I attended the Police Department Christmas Party. We would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to the Rotary for sponsoring the event. As well their support for the Fire Department and all their other endeavors.
When you see the men and women of the Police Department, review the list of the accomplishments and talk with them, it is no wonder that they have been honored repeatedly on a nationwide and state basis. They accomplish so much with such a small number of personnel.
Peachtree City has one of the smallest police forces for the size of our city anywhere in the nation.
Most traffic stops result in warnings, not fines, and they are very conscientious on not over-stepping their bounds.
They wear many hats, including family mediator, peace-maker, counselor and just being a good listener. When attacked as being too many for the amount of crime we have, my response is they are the reason why we have less crime than the rest of the Metro area, neighboring areas included.
All who stand in harms way deserve our backing and support. They have ours.
Merry Christmas to all and the most Happy New year.
