COS will hold Advent service tonight
Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church will offer its final mid-week Advent service  Dec. 14, from 7-7:30 p.m. “Taking the Story of Christmas Home” is the theme. According to associate pastor Miriam Beecher, “The worship service will have a multi-sensory creative touch.” Some of the traditions and practices to be explored are Christmas trees, wreaths, cards, lights and candy canes. The Shepherd’s Band and Logos Ringers will provide music. Christ Our Shepherd is on the corner of Ga. Highway 54 and Peachtree Parkway.

Brooks announces cantata, special services
The Brooks United Methodist Church’s Chancel Choir will present the Christmas Cantata on Sunday, Dec. 18 at 7 p.m.  On Christmas Eve, a Candlelight Service will be held at 5 pm.  On Christmas morning there will be one service at 11 a.m. Brooks UMC is at the corner of Ga. ‘Lessons and Carols’ featured at FFUMC
The adult and children’s choirs at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church will present a “Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols” on Sunday, Dec. 18, at 8:30 and 11 a.m. The service tells the story of the fall of humanity, the promise of a messiah, and the birth of jesus through music and readings from the scriptures. The FFUMC orchestra will accompany the choir on several selections. The church is in downtown Fayetteville across the street from the old Fayette County Courthouse.

NHBC will present ‘Messiah’ Dec. 18
The National Heights Sanctuary Choir and Friends will present the Christmas portion of Handel’s ‘Messiah’ on Sunday evening, Dec. 18 at 6 p.m.  The community is welcomed to attend this free sacred music Christmas program..  A nursery will be provided and a reception will follow the service.  National Heights Baptist Church is at the corner of Ga. FFUMC plans Christmas services
Fayetteville First United Methodist Church will have Christmas Eve services on Saturday evening at 4, 6 and 11 p.m. No nursery will be provided during the 11 p.m. service. There will be one service on Christmas Day at 11 a.m. Children and youth Sunday School classes will not meet. The church is in downtown Fayetteville across the street from the old Fayette County Courthouse. For more information, call 770-461-4313.

Divorce Care starts in January at PTCUMC
DivorceCare is a weekly seminar and support group for people who are separated or divorced. It’s a place where they can hear valuable information about ways to heal from the hurt of divorce. The new session will begin on Jan. 11 and will meet from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. weekly on Wednesday evenings at Peachtree City United Methodist Church, 225 Robinson Rd.  Sessions will be held in Room 300. Leave toys, food, clothing at CCC
Community Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) 349 Kenwood Rd., Fayetteville, is a drop off point for Toys for Tots, non-perishable food and paper goods for Fayette Samaritans and is collecting coats and sweaters for the needy.  Donors are asked to call in advance (770-460-9745) before dropping off any items to the church.
