The ancients thought that the purpose of the brain was to cool the blood. Perhaps we should use our brains, cool the rhetoric, and focus on the qualifications for Peachtree City Council Post #1.
I find Eric Imker to be the best qualified candidate.
His approach to budget management is refreshing, especially coming from someone who is not a politician but an engineer and a program manager.
He has managed huge projects and budgets in both government and industry. Mr. Imker brings this experience to the Peachtree City Council in spreadsheets, financial planning, auditing, and forecasting. He champions spending within your means. He has led the council to long-term solutions, rather than “Band-Aid” quick fixes.
Mr. Imker brings to the citizens a new openness and unprecedented access to information. He has conducted workshops, led discussions, and invited ideas — and implemented many of them.
We elect and expect our council members to make difficult decisions. Unlike some politicians who frame decisions as “either-or” (for example, “we must either raise taxes or we must cut services”) Mr. Imker has dug into the budget to find ways to cut and save, and ways to achieve consensus. Services remain sound and robust.
We must take back our government; and re-electing Eric Imker to Peachtree City Council Post #1 is a step in that direction.
