Former commissioner picks his candidates

This year, the election cycle is for municipal elections in Fayette County.

I live in one of the municipalities, Peachtree City, so I will vote there.

Politicians, including local ones, need to focus. Stop looking for ways to raise, and spend, more money and focus on supplying the level of services we require at the lowest possible cost. I’m going to trust Mr. Imker to do that.

I don’t live in either Tyrone or Fayetteville, but if I did, I know who I would vote for in several of those races.

In Tyrone, I’d vote for Eric Dial for mayor and Ryan Housley for Post 2. I’ve known Eric for over 15 years, he is a good man.

I think that the most important elections for Fayette County are in Fayetteville this year. Voters there will make choices that reverberate into our future.

Will Fayetteville continue to go down the path of DeKalb County, Cobb County, Riverdale, etc.? Or will the voters say that they want to preserve and protect a different path?

This could be their last chance to make that choice. After this, with the West Bypass and the massive annexation and the increased density planned for the center of the county, the future will be changed unalterably.

So, I’d vote for Greg Clifton for mayor and Mickey Edwards and Ed Johnson for council. All three are good, solid, conservative people.
