UPDATED FOR PRINT, Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011 — A female student at Fayette County High School faces charges relating to the forcible body piercing of a 13-year-old female during the school’s lunch period on Aug. 26.

The girl had asked for the piercing earlier in the day but changed her mind as the incident was occurring, police said. She was being held down by two other juveniles when a school administrator intervened.

Fayetteville Police Det. Mike Whitlow on Sept. 2 said 17-year-old Christian Tucker, of Fayetteville, was charged with battery, disruption of a public school and piercing the body of a person under the age of 18.

The police report stated that on Aug. 26 a Fayette County High School administrator was notified by students of a 17-year-old student piercing the body of a 13-year-old student during the lunch period. Whitlow said the incident occurred outside the building in the bus loop area.

Whitlow said the school administrator arrived at the scene and observed the 13-year-old girl being held down by two students, one a male and one female, while Tucker was piercing the skin of the navel area of the 13-year-old.

The administrator notified the School Resource Officer who took Tucker into custody, Whitlow said, adding that the two juveniles holding the girl down were subsequently charged with simple battery and disruption of a school.

Whitlow said further investigation revealed that an earlier piercing was done that morning by Tucker on an 18-year-old female student in the girl’s bathroom, an act that was observed by the 13-year-old, said Whitlow.

Whitlow said the investigation also determined that the 13-year-old student solicited the piercing of her navel at lunch but then changed her mind when the action was occurring, asking Tucker to stop. Tucker did not stop and was still in the act when the administrator arrived, Whitlow said.
