Yet another accolade has poured in for Peachtree City.
This time, MONEY magazine has placed the city in the top 100 “Best places to live” in its annual rankings. Specificially, the city ranked 91st of all communities considered for the contest.
The magazine cited the benefits of the city’s 90-plus miles of golf cart pahts, particularly as an alternative to what it called “pollution-spewing, street-clogging cars.”
Another feather in the city’s cap for the ranking was the overall crime rate being quite low, although the online article notes that the city has seen some business burglaries due to the economic downturn.
The list of top 100 places to live is published in MONEY’s September issue. Peachtree City was the only Georgia location to make the list.
This is the fourth time in a row that the city has made the annual MONEY list of top 100 best places to live, as the publication considers smaller towns such as Peachtree City (those under 50,000 population) every other year. In 2005, Peachtree City ranked eighth overall in the country, 64th overall in 2007 and back up to eighth in 2009.
Also, MONEY is running an online competition to see which community will be named a “fan favorite.” As of Tuesday just before lunch, Peachtree City was ranked 27th. Voting takes place at http://money.cnn.com/magazines/moneymag/bplive/2011/best_places_Fan_favo…
