Mr. and Mrs. Andrew H. Schneider of Tyrone announce the engagement of their daughter, Melanie Joy Schneider, to Westin C. Galloway, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Galloway of Sandy Springs.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Donald Owen of Garden City, S.C., Janet Owen of Peachtree City and the late Ernest Schneider of Croton, N.Y. and the late Marlaine Bartow of Worchester, Mass. She is a 2002 graduate of McIntosh High School and a 2006 graduate of Wake Forest University, Winston Salem, N.C. where she received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education and was captain of the women’s soccer team. She is currently employed as a development and communications coordinator for a non-profit organization in Orange County, Calif.
The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Elliot Galloway of Atlanta, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Worrall of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla. He is a 2002 graduate of The Galloway School, in Atlanta, and a 2006 graduate of Wake Forest University where he was a member of the track team and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in sociology. He is currently a western region rep for Mizuno USA in the Running Division.
The wedding will be held Sept. 10, 2011, at The Galloway School, Atlanta. Following the wedding, the couple will reside in Aliso Viejo, Calif.
