Mr. and Mrs. Richard O’Brien of Fayetteville announce the engagement of their daughter, Susan Harper O’Brien, to Joseph Franklin O’Shields, son of Connie Brown, Sam Harris, and Bill and Robin O’Shields.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of the late Robert Cunningham and Susan Cunningham of Auburn, Ala. and John O’Brien and the late Ann O’Brien of West Point. She is a graduate of the University of Georgia’s Terry School of Business with a B.B.A. focusing in real estate. She is currently pursuing a master’s in early childhood education from Oglethorpe University.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Lee Dry and the late Mary Dry of Macon, the late Frank O’Shields and Genie Campbell of Marietta, and Ed Harris and the late Judy Harris of Doraville. He earned a B.B.A. and master’s of accountancy from the University of Georgia’s Tull School of Accounting. He is currently a consultant with Ernst & Young in Atlanta.
The wedding is planned for Saturday, July 30, 2011, in Decatur. Following the wedding, the couple will reside in Atlanta.
