Mr. Oliver Clyde “O.C.” Hendrix, Jr., 79, of Fayetteville, passed away on July 11, 2011.
Mr. Hendrix was a member and past president of the Fayette Chapter of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He was also a member of Fayetteville 1st United Methodist Church where he served as an usher. He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Frances Hendrix. He is survived by his daughters Denise Hendrix Ambrose of Dalton and Linda Hendrix Cooke of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Shannon A. West, Jennifer West, Crystal Hensley, Matthew Ambrose, Stephen Ambrose and Cameron Barge; great-grandchildren Elice Hensley and Houston Goolsby; nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Fayetteville 1st United Methodist Church with Reverend Mark Westmoreland officiating. Burial will follow at Shadow Lawn Cemetery, LaGrange. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville.
