NAECO, a local manufacturer and supplier to dozens of USA and International switch, relay and electrical device manufacturers, has recently undergone an 18-month expansion project. Starting in January 2010, NAECO expanded from 2,000 square feet to over 5,000 square feet, and added six permanent jobs.

David Bergmann, President, explains, “The expansion and added workforce was necessary to keep up with our rapid growth in aerospace, defense and export markets. Thus far, we have been lucky to find good skilled people here in the local area without hiring any out-of-state professionals. The added space will accommodate our expanded assembly work cells, increased shipping/receiving areas, increased quality control areas and office space for additional support staff in engineering and customer service. Challenges remain, but we are delighted to buck two negative USA trends: trade deficits and high unemployment. We could not have gotten this far without a team of talented and dedicated employees.”

NAECO supplies machine parts and subassemblies that are used in many new and older aerospace platforms. New projects driving their growth include content in:

Boeing 787 Dreamliner

Airbus A380 (now the world’s largest commercial passenger jet)

VLJ Business and Private Jets

The expansion is nearly finished, with hiring complete and only some automation projects remaining. The facility expansion was done in tandem with investment in high tech manufacturing and inspection equipment, plus the requisite employee training. NAECO plans to continue their growth in 2011-2012, and they will continue to seek opportunities for new domestic/export markets and business diversification.
