Please join me Saturday, July 9, between 10 a.m. and noon at City Hall to discuss the city’s proposed Fiscal Year 2012 budget. It is on the city’s website.
Council has scheduled a budget workshop for Monday, July 11, 6 p.m. at City Hall where details will be discussed.
Although no votes will be made at the workshop, compromises will begin to take shape as we move towards two public hearings in preparation for a final vote on establishing the FY2012 budget at the Aug. 4 City Council meeting.
I feel it is extremely important to get feedback from the citizens and this is what I want to do on Saturday, July 9.
Citizen comments during public hearings is one thing; having an environment to talk to a council member one-on-one in person in an informal format is another.
I will share anything and everything about the budget with you. Let’s discuss needed city services, infrastructure repairs, employee head-count and benefits, city cash reserves, tax millage rates, etc.
If you have a question, simply ask. I am available anytime if you can’t make it on Saturday. Simply let me know when and where you’d like to meet and I’ll be there.
