All Saints Anglican Church in Peachtree City will conduct its annual free children’s Music Camp July 11-15.
The featured theme, “Sing To The Lord A New Song,” will be evident in traditional hymns and praise songs, as well as scripture verses and messages.
Curriculum for the camp is a potpouri of music, singing, dancing, and instruction in various instruments, composition, and art. It also features contests, games and snacks. No previous experience is required.
The program is intended for children ages 4-11. Last summer’s camp graduated over 100 children, so those interested are encouraged to register early.
Assisting All Saints’ music director Shannon Bryan as worship leader will be Aaron Childree who is experienced in contemporary praise bands and student worship ministries. He also plays several different instruments.
Several other professional guest musicians will begin and close each day leading worship music. This summer’s new additions to the program include a vocal lab that will be lead by soprano Chelsea Buyalos. Classical guitarist LeeLee Hunter will teach strings. Joel Haasenritter, piano technician and musician, returns to teach and play piano. Others will teach and play dulcimer.
A worship dance lab is also a new part of this year‘s program. Children will again have the chance to experience and experiment with many types of musical instruments.
Bryan, along with All Saints’ education director Jessica Greiner and a number of adult volunteers, will spearhead the program and provide supervision for the children.
Although the camp is free, campers are asked to bring donations to a local ministry called “Pennies For Posho.”
Parents and friends will be invited to the “grand finale” and graduating presentation at noon on July 15 when the children will demonstrate what they have learned.
The camp is scheduled for 9 a.m.- 12 p.m. daily. It will be held at the church at 225 South Peachtree Parkway.
