Heritage Christian Church in Fayetteville invites the community to a night of music, laughs, and missions, “The Shameless Asking for Support for Our Africa Mission Trip” Tour on Sunday, June 12, at 6:30pm.
The event will feature the musical talents of Jason Bowen and Quarters Road and the comedy of Heritage’s own comedian, Steve Geyer.
The event is free of charge but a love offering will be taken up to enable the missions team to minister at the AAMC conference in Kenya, visit the Josaka Medical Clinic the church helped fund with their “One Day’s Wage” and to connect with other partners in ministry in Africa.
Professional humorist Steve Geyer has been performing stand-up for more than 20 years. He has opened for such acts as Sinbad, Billy Crystal, and Ray Romano. In addition to the club circuit, Geyer has been a featured speaker at Youth Specialties conventions and many Christian festivals including Atlanta Fest and Texas Alive.
“Geyer’s stand-up comedy will keep you laughing from start to finish, and best of all, it’s good clean fun for the whole family,” a spokesperson said.
The headlining musical talent for the evening will feature seasoned musical artist and song-writer, Jason Bowen, who currently leads worship at Heritage.
In his “spare time,” Bowen writes songs for Sony/ATV Music Publishing. He has had the opportunity to perform with/write for artists such as Barry Manilow, Keith Sweat, Silk, Karl Heilbron, Andrae Crouch, Michael W. Smith, Sawyer Brown, Deni Hines, Stevie Brock, the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes (TLC), Bob Dipiero, Candy Cameron, and more.
Also performing at this event is the up-and-coming band known as Quarters Road. This group of talented young people has opened for artists such as John Waller and have already been booked as performers and worship leaders in venues in several states throughout the summer.
Kaitlin Fultz, a recent graduate of Starr’s Mill High School, will also contribute her musical talents to the evening’s performances.
Heritage Christian Church is in south Fayetteville, at the corner of Redwine Road and Peachtree Parkway.
