Members of Fine Arts And Crafts Entrepreneurs (FAACE) hosted their first annual “Art With Heart” show benefiting The Children’s Village at Christian City. Art enthusiasts came out to enjoy this wonderful event featuring paintings, pottery, jewelry, and fiber art created by local artisans. Over $450.00 was raised through love offerings and sales of donated pieces by artists for the boys and girls who live in the cottages at The Children’s Village. “Art With Heart” will become an annual signature event for this new organization that focuses on “the business of art.” To find out more about this group please access www.faace.org.
Christian City opened the first children’s cottage to eight little boys affected by situations of abuse and abandonment on Valentine’s Day, 1965. Since then, Christian City and the Children’s Village have been “home” to over 1,000 children.
