The parents of Emily Rieder and Stephen Thurston announce the couple’s engagement and upcoming marriage.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Udo and Karen Rieder of Portland, Ore., formerly of Peachtree City. She is a 2005 graduate of McIntosh High School, where she was salutatorian. She earned a psychology degree from the University of Georgia in 2009 and a nursing degree from Oregon Health and Science University in 2010. She is a nurse at CODA, a behavioral healthcare agency in Portland.
The groom-to-be is the son of Scott and Karen Thurston of Peachtree City. He is a 2005 graduate of McIntosh High School and earned a degree in biological science from the University of Georgia in 2009. He is a lab assistant at Oregon Health and Science University Hospital in Portland.
The couple will wed March 26, 2011, in Braselton and will reside in Portland.
