Every now and then something you never expected comes your way and ends up bringing you a lot of joy. One of those rare things for me was the Peachtree City Dog Park.
I can truly say that I deeply enjoy sitting in one of the park’s many Adirondack chairs beneath a tree watching the dogs run and talking with the good friends that I have made. Nestled in the beautiful woodlands, the park is a picturesque setting that makes for a relaxing break.
The Dog Park has over 400 annual dues-paying members and hundreds more who pay a one-dollar per visit fee. Those funds go straight back into the park which is totally user funded. This year alone, we have made over $15,000 worth of improvements to the park.
The park has turned into something really special and the newly opened expansion area adds a whole new dimension to the experience.
From Thanksgiving Day until New Year’s Day, the Peachtree City Dog Park Association is offering an extended FREE Park period. You and your dog can experience what is one of the best such facilities in the Southeastern United States.
The special no fee period means our college students returning for the holidays can bring their dogs. Your other visiting relatives can also bring their dogs.
The Dog Park is located at the Shakerag Park Complex at 191 McIntosh Trail in Peachtree City, following the path behind the BMX track.
Please go to our website at www.ptcdogpark.com and look at the introduction to the Dog Park section before you come. We are also on Facebook.com (put “Peachtree City Dog Park” in the search box).
If you enjoy the experience as much as we do, we hope you will decide to purchase an annual membership ($35 for Fayette residents and $45 for outside residents) and help keep the park going.
