For the second year now, Fayette County Post 105 has supported the local Civil Air Patrol (CAP), Falcon Field Squadron 116, in their “Wreaths Across America” program.
This program began as an effort to place Christmas wreaths on the graves of our military veterans resting in Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C., during the holidays.
The program has now gone national with thousands of additional wreaths placed on the graves of our veterans in local cemeteries across the country.
Again this year, wreaths will be placed on the graves of local veterans buried at our Fayetteville City Cemetery on Saturday, Dec. 11 by cadets of the Civil Air Patrol.
The wreaths are paid completely by donations from patriotic citizens like you. A donation of $15 is required for each wreath. The wreaths are high quality, handmade in America of live balsam with a hand-tied bow.
There are two ways to order a wreath.
1. Telephone Wreaths Across America directly toll-free — 1-877-385-9504. Tell them you want the wreath delivered to Georgia, Fayetteville Cemetery. Tell them to use Fundraising Group ID: GA CAP 116. Use your credit card.
2. Order from the Wreaths Across America website: www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/become-a-sponsor.html. Select the state: Georgia. Select the cemetery code: GA FC CF. Select the Fundraising Group ID: GA CAP 116. Use your credit card.
The donation must be processed by Wreaths Across America by Monday, Nov. 29. The wreaths will be delivered to Fayetteville and placed on the headstones of our veterans during a public ceremony Saturday, Dec. 11.
