The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Narcotics Team (TNT) has concluded an investigation into marijuana trafficking that led to the arrest Aug. 4 of two men from Hapeville and Atlanta.
The incident Wednesday occurred in the parking lot of a Fayette County business, according to TNT Capt. Jody Thomas.
Thomas said two males met with a TNT agent acting in an undercover capacity. The two males, identified as Ebrahim Bangura, 25, of Atlanta, and Saddy Jawara, 40, of Hapeville, met with and sold approximately 5 pounds of marijuana to the undercover agent for $5,000.
Thomas said both subjects were taken into custody without incident and charged with trafficking marijuana after agents discovered more marijuana in their vehicle.
The total weight of marijuana seized was approximately 14 pounds. Bangura and Jawara were also found to be in possession of a large sum of cash totaling more than $13,000 that was also seized by TNT agents, said Thomas.
