Fayetteville Police are trying to identify suspects involved in two different altercations at Cobblestone Apartments Tuesday afternoon.

The first incident, shortly before 4 p.m., involved a group of 10-12 kids who were “hanging out” in the area and approached an 18-year-old male, police said. The male was asked a question and then punched and kicked.

The victim received minor injuries, police said. The incident occurred near the playground, police said.

The second incident occurred a half-hour later with what is believed to be the same group of kids approaching a 16-year-old male who was asked a question and then punched, police said. That victim had his cellphone taken from him and the group ran away from the scene, police said.

At the time of the incident the victim was walking back to his apartment, police said.

It is possible that one of the victims knew someone in the group, and the case is under investigation, police said.
