Mr. and Mrs. Dan McCully of Sharpsburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Casey Aileen McCully, to Douglas Brian Newman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Doug Newman of Fayetteville.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of L.D. Bryan III of Canton, Ga. and the late Ms. Helen Veronica Bryan of Albany, Ga., and Mrs. Sue Propst McCully and the late Nathan Paul McCully of Muscle Shoals, Ala. She is a graduate of Soaring Eagles and is an honors scholar at Georgia State University pursuing a degree in nursing.
The groom-elect is the grandson of MaryLou Rogers of Ravenna, Ohio, and Jim Rogers of San Diego, Calif., and Mrs. MaryLou Newman and the late Donald R. Newman of Cleveland, Ohio. He is a graduate of Veritas Academy and is a student at Georgia State University pursuing a degree in mass communications. He is currently employed at Gym Sports Academy in Tyrone.
A beach wedding is planned for Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010, in Pensacola, Fla. Following a honeymoon to Mexico, the couple will reside in Fayetteville.
