Glenn “Tex” and Jeanne (Fort) Brewer celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Aug 2, 2010. They were married at Christ Church on St. Simons Island on Aug. 2, 1950.
Mr. Brewer is a retired U.S. Navy submarine captain and served 16 years as a councilman on the Fayetteville City Council.
Mrs. Brewer has been a docent for the Holliday-Dorsey-Fife House Museum and is an active member of the Fayette County Historical Society. The couple has lived in Fayetteville since 1986, residing in and restoring the house Mrs. Brewer’s grandmother was born in, now known as the Bennett-Graham-Brewer house on Beauregard Blvd.
The Brewers have four children: Kathleen Brewer (Fayetteville), Barbara and Paul Cooper (Hawaii), Cecilia and James Englehart (Pennsylvania), and James and Lisa Brewer (Texas); nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
