Registration is still open for All Saints Anglican Church’s free Children’s Music Camp set for July 12-16. The theme is “A Week of Praise” with a focus on a variety of music, especially traditional hymns and praise songs. The camp will be held from 9 a.m.- noon. daily, is open all children ages 4-12, and will be held at the church at 225 South Peachtree Parkway.

As part of the potpourri of musical fun, “The Week of Praise” will feature professional guitar instructor Jeff Shephard who will teach many of the elements of music to the children.

Shephard is the owner and operator of The 44th Note, a company that offers a fresh and innovative approach to mobile music instruction.

Shephard, along with the Rev. Michael Fry, will teach children about the elements of music composition such as melody, rhythm and texture. Music director Shannon Bryan and a number of adult volunteers will spearhead the program and provide supervision for the children.

This year’s new additions to the program are a string lab, a percussion lab, and a keyboard lab. Children will have the chance to experiment with guitars, violins, dulcimers and harps.

Parents and friends will be invited to the “grand finale” and graduating presentation at noon on July 16 when the children get a chance to demonstrate what they have learned.

Those interested may sign up by calling the church, 770-486-5374, or by visiting the church website, ptcanglican.org/registration.php.
