The Fayette-based vocal band Zaphyra will be returning to Newnan’s favorite restaurant, Ten East Washington, to perform for Sunday Brunch on April 25. They will be presenting a new program as a preview to the Voices concert, “Mist of Night and Moon,” this September.
Zaphyra will be offering a mix of all time favorites like “Vincent (Starry, Starry Night,)” and “Walking in the Air;” more contemporary pieces like “Make You Feel My Love;” musical theater works like “Somewhere” and “Memory;” and classical pieces like “No One Like You” and Rusalka’s “Song to the Moon” by Dvorak.
Additionally, they will be offering two original pieces: “Ophelia” by Jill Safko and “Through the Rain” by Paige McCauley. On this occasion, Diane Mitchell will be joining the usual members – Maria Pia Ugarte, Amy Beaucham, Jill Safko, and Paige McCauley – as well as two of members of Ugarte’s teaching studio (www.TheUgarteStudio.com) — Camille Edwards and Abby Mortensen, both of which will be performing ensemble songs with the group.
The performance will begin at 12:30 pm as part of the Sunday Brunch offered by Ten East Washington. Please call 770-502-9100 for reservations (suggested.) There will be a $5 cover charge for adults and $2.50 for children. For more information and directions, please visit www.Zaphyra.net or www.TenEastWashington.com .
