Dr. and Mrs. David L. Chancey of Fayetteville announce the engagement of their daughter, Ruth Erin Chancey, to Andrew Ernest Bowen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest O. Bowen, also of Fayetteville.
The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Mrs. Gladys Chancey and the late Gene L. Chancey of Milledgeville, and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Gould of Athens, Ga. She is a graduate of Fayette County High School and the University of Georgia, where she earned her bachelor of science in family and consumer sciences. She will graduate from Georgia State University in May with a masters of science in professional counseling.
The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas E. Brown of East Point, and Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Bowen of Manchester. He is a graduate of Fayette County High School and Georgia State University, where he earned a bachelor of music with a concentration in recording technology.
The wedding is planned for Saturday, May 15, 2010, at McDonough Road Baptist Church in Fayetteville. After a honeymoon in St. Lucia, the couple will reside in the Atlanta area.
