Kay Garner, 63, of Sharpsburg, formerly of Jonesboro, died April 11, 2010.
She loved to cook for her family and their favorites were her chocolate chess pie and almond chicken. She enjoyed reading and traveling but most of all enjoyed her family. She was “Nana” to her grandchildren and loved to support them in sporting events.
Mrs. Garner was preceded in death by her dad Seldon Ray Davis. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Edward Garner; son Andy and Janet Garner of Sharpsburg; daughter Angie and Butch Bailey of Jackson, GA; grandsons Drew Garner and Chad Garner both of Sharpsburg and Landon Bailey of Jackson; granddaughter Jessica Garner of Sharpsburg; mom Christine Davis of Woodstock; brothers Donnie and Linda Davis of Fayetteville, Doyle and Judy Davis of Fayetteville, and Brad and Sharon Davis of Douglasville; sister Connie Mackenzie of Woodstock; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville with Minister Aubrey Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
