Starting Monday there will be intermittent single lane closures on part of Wisdom Road
as contractors start working on a stormwater project across from Peachtree City Elementary School and Riley Field.
City officials have said the road closures would be “worked around” school drop-off and dismissal times to avoid inconveniencing the public.
The road will be fully closed over schools’ Spring Break between April 3 and 11, with no available access to Riley Field. Those using Riley Field will have to park at the school and walk to the field.
The project involves the replacement of a culvert and also stream bank restoration to prevent damage to Wisdom Road.
The total time frame for completion of the project is 45 days. The project is being funded by the city’s stormwater program, which is funded by annual user fees on all developments in the city based on their amount of impervious surface.
